Raising children without TV

The evidence is pretty conclusive - Children who watch TV are less creative, more likely to be overweight and have more attention problems in school. You do not want your children end up as couch potatoes. But how to raise children without television? What will they do all day? And how are you going to get a break?

First, stop worrying so much. You can raise children without television, and you can take a break from them sometimes. In fact, if you raise your childrenTV without them are much less likely to require constant "fun!"

Start by choosing to go free TV. If you have one child, this is quite simple. You start by simply turning the TV forever. But if you have older children, although only small children can be difficult to switch off the TV.

With small children I recommend gently but very firmly tell them that the TV off. O is placed in a closet or removed completely. If you do nothave a closet, and must remain, cover with a blanket or towel while the baby is pretty cute. Make it clear that will not turn on - and to learn the business. If the child is to turn it on when you need to be persistent, but can be learned.

If you sit down off the TV for older children, and explain what is happening and why as you. Expect some grumbling and complaining, but still. You can decidehave a family movie night to help once a week or something to ease the transition.

Expect to have the baby time to fill constructive if the TV went first. Children in the past could speak for hours, but not so with the boys today. I'm too used to it, talk shows and games.

Read your children or a lot of their books is a good start. Telling stories is another great thing to do. GreaterChildren are very interested in stories. Tell stories of adventures from your childhood, or tell stories to your Favorites, if you were a child. You like them too. Stories will also help grow their imaginations.

Children love to help around the house. Their participation in your work as you can imagine. Let them "dust" with a cloth. Teach them to put together pairs of socks or fold washcloths. Get a broom adults and children to leave you, with you. AlsoYoung children can learn to wash dishes or help load the dishwasher. housework can fill regular happy hours for young children. When you are ready to help you spend more "Time to Pretend" or "cook, clean and care for their dolls and stuffed animals on their own.

Do not exclude older children with their homework, because they are not as enthusiastic as their children. Choir should fill some 'time for children every day. They learn to acquire valuable skills that are neededif they were at home. They also learn that all helps in the family, and develop a good work ethic. If you have never had to do homework before being patient but firm. Get a good job and the need to do it consistently.

Crafts are another good way to occupy time. Easy art projects are a great joy for children. They age, their projects can grow in their complexity. Building and shop projects are good for older children, and suggestions in August and various crafts.

Do not neglect your time outdoors. Children can and should learn to enjoy nature in all seasons. Make sure they are dressed appropriately - this is especially important for children because they often are unaware of how their bodies are signs of being too hot or too cold, as an adult. But once they were well dressed, they send out (or go with them). You can give a first orientation, teaching, toys, or outside themToys>. But in the end your children will be able to carry out their creative games out there.

For a good toy inside too. Out of character toys and electronic toys. Give them toys like baby dolls, toy dishes and utensils, toy instruments (real tools for an older child), and Lego construction toys, toys, etc. They allow freedom of imagination and creativity .

As you can read and tell stories, teach them games, whiteCRAFT projects, and enjoy life with your child, you will notice that television is becoming less of a focus. Your child will always be more capable on their own game, with lots of imagination.
